Wow, 10 years make a decade!!! Whilst we've been baking and decorating cake beauties for longer than a decade, it's interesting when we take a moment to reflect on how we have transitioned, year by year in the last decade.

I took a moment to select a cake/pair of cakes to represent each year from 2010 to 2019, which have significant meanings to me :-) Enjoy!

2010 - AMERICAN REINDEER
This little reindeer went to the market; this little reindeer stayed home; this little reindeer had roast beef; this little reindeer had none.... but Dee's little reindeer flew aaaaalllllll the way to San Antonio from the UK, to celebrate my first nephew's first Christmas. That's a lot of "firsts"

2011 - YES "WE DO"
Our first ever Wedding Cake, made up of Fruit Cake with blended fruits and Vanilla Cake in alternating shapes. This was the start of our Wedding Cake Portfolio

2015 - I MADE MY WEDDING CAKE
The title says it all. Amidst all the wedding planning and preps, as well as my family and friends trying to deter me thinking I was mad..... I made my own Wedding Cake.. all 4 beautiful tiers of very rich fruit cake :-)

2016 - OUR SUNSHINE
This was our first edible Baby Converse Shoes and Pillow cake. All for my sister's Baby Shower. What a special day it was indeed.
2017 - DON'T DELIVER IN CHURCH
Ok, ok... I had to come up with a catchy title. High on hormones, being 7 months pregnant, I drove this towering beauty from North to South. Hahaha, I'm sure the guests at the wedding thought I was nuts :-), marching up and down the stairs, carrying cake tier after cake tier.

2018 Pt1 - A TASTE OF CULTURE
What is it with me and North to South runs :-)

The client was speechless when she saw this cake, and pleasantly surprised when we revealed that every single aspect was edible. This cake gave me an opportunity to step back into my cultural roots. It was for a marriage between 2 different cultures. Details can be found here...

2018 Pt2 - MR. HAPPY IS 1!
For my son's 1st birthday, we decided to make something a little different from the norm and turned the traditional cake structure on its head. This cake certainly had guests talking and my Ayo grinning from ear to ear.

2019 Pt1 - ARCHITECTURAL BLUEPRINT
Whilst I don't intend to quit my day job to become a builder or architect. I was literally chosen and given a pencil sketch by a 10-year-old genius to transform her drawing into a 3-D House Cake. This cake had me up all night, putting last-minute touches here and there, as though I was expecting people to actually move in. I think I can safely say we delivered :-)
2019 Pt2 - SIMPLICITY
Sometimes the most precious gifts are the simple ones. This monochrome beauty was for a client who just wanted a simple special cake for his daughter's 18th birthday. There's just something about this cake that moves me.

2019 Pt3 - A SHOT OF XO EXCELLENCE
This cake represents what we stand for; "EXCELLENCE". I had to put every attention into the details of this cake, so much so that I had people asking me if the wooden crate was real wood.

Excellence was what was requested, and EXCELLENCE was what we presented :-)

If you noticed, we omitted 2012, 2013 and 2014. This was definitely very deliberate. All the cakes we make have special stories behind them, but I just had to whittle it down to the 10 cakes whose stories trump the rest to represent 10 YEARS in a DECADE.

I'd love to tell your story through the medium of Cake, so give me a call on 07753210096 and let's make Cake Magic happen.

Sweet regards,
Dee

It’s 2020 , the start of a new chapter for all of us and no doubt with the start of a new year comes a new hunger to celebrate life in varying formats; the birth of a child, a birthday, valentine’s day, a wedding, graduating from school, a baby being christened, the purchase of a new house, or generally celebrating “just because”... the list is endless, cos that’s just what we do. So we class the product of these celebrations as "Events". Now, I’m not officially an Event Coordinator or Wedding Planner or Party Planner, but I have gleaned a bit of insight from attending and supplying cakes to countless events. To ensure that you're better prepared before your next event, and seeing as I’m in a sharing mood, I’ve captured 5 Points that in my opinion are very important at ensuring your next event is successful ... you're welcome :-)
